Tactile yet striving for the supersensory, Müller’s current
body of work is characterized by the complexity of its layers both
in terms of surface and the conception of form. Each piece is mapped
out on the computer, in some instances with meticulous precision
and at other times using random commands. Once drawn, the work
is made a unit at a time by the artist's hand (it is important
for Müller that the elements of a piece are both crafted
by her hand and are of a scale that can be held in the hand). In
this process of bringing the work into three dimensions, the artist
grapples to maintain a precision that parallels the computer rendering,
while allowing the piece to take on random, subtle imperfection.
